About the Retreat

"The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

This retreat will focus on growth of your own personal prayer life and reflection - rather than socialising & group activities.

Date: 22 August 2026

Location: St Benedict’s Catholic Church, 8 Fagans Rd, Arcadia NSW 2159 (about a 15 minute drive from the CTR Parish Centre)

What: Faith Talks. Workshop. Reflection.

Time of Arrival: 8.45AM

Start Time: 9:00AM beginning with Adoration

Cost: $35 - Includes Lunch, Light Snacks and Refreshments

RSVP: 9 AUGUST

We encourage you to bring:

• A journal and pen

• Any spiritual reading material such as your Bible

• A rosary

• Anything else you feel will help you make the most of your retreat day!

Theme and background: The focus of this retreat is 'Prayer' - bringing together the image of Jesus praying in Gethsemane with our scripture focus from Matthew 26:36-46 where we hear Jesus say to Peter "the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak”.

Message & Special Requirements

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, when Mary, having completed her earthly life, was taken body and soul into the glory of heaven. 💙🙏

For us, this feast is a beautiful reminder of the hope that awaits all who place their trust in God. Mary’s life was one of complete surrender, faith and love, from her humble “yes” at the Annunciation to her faithful presence at the foot of the Cross.

In our Maronite tradition, we honour the Mother of God with deep love and devotion, asking her to continue to intercede for our families, our parish and all those who seek her Son.

“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.”

May Our Lady of the Assumption draw us ever closer to Christ and help us to live with the same courage, humility and faith that marked her life.

10 Years of Grace. One Parish. One Family.

What an incredible evening celebrating 10 years of Christ the Redeemer Maronite Parish.

Over the past decade, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness in countless ways, lives transformed, families strengthened, friendships formed, and a community built on faith, hope and love.

Our Anniversary Hafle was more than a celebration of the past. It was a reminder of who we are today and the exciting future God continues to prepare for our parish.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, organised and supported this special milestone. Your generosity, dedication and love for our parish made the evening one to remember.

We are especially grateful to our clergy, past and present leaders, ministry volunteers and every parishioner who has helped shape Christ the Redeemer into the vibrant community it is today.

As we celebrate this milestone, we give thanks to God for every blessing of the past ten years and look forward with confidence to all that lies ahead.
